GFC Bournemouth was formed in the summer of 2005 in order to give gay footballers in the Bournemouth area the chance to play the game with like-minded people on a regular basis.

Their core activity is ‘park football’, which takes place on a Sunday at least twice a month. Everyone is welcome, regardless of ability. They usually do some training for the first half hour or so, after which they play a game or two. At the end of the session most visit one of the local gay bars. Despite the club's name, about half of the players come from Southampton and our practice sessions alternate between Meyrick Park in Bournemouth and Southampton Common.
