Massive crowds expected for Bournemouth's gay pride paradePrepare for a fun-filled circus themed procession on Saturday 11th July and join thousands of people taking part in, or watching, this colourful celebration of equality and diversity.

The first ever Pride Parade through the streets of Bournemouth was such a success in 2008 that it is again at the centre of the Bourne Free weekend, from 10th-12th July this year.

Everyone is invited to get dressed up and be part of the parade with organisers hoping to see hundreds of clowns in a huge fancy dress competition for the sexiest, wackiest and weirdest.

Bourne Free Pride FestivalBourne Free have revealed some dramatic changes to the 3 day pride festival in Bournemouth, with both the Friday and Saturday live music events moving to the town's gay village, The Triangle.

Due to the rapidly growing popularity of Bourne Free, the gardens are no longer able to cope with the number of people attending the event and so for 2009 the entire programme has been shaken up.

The most popular acts from last year's jazz concert will be joining a brand new Launch Night in The Triangle on Friday 10th July from 7pm. An evening of smooth sounds and funky grooves will be accompanied by the official Opening Ceremony and a spectacular tribute performance, not to mention a bar tent and hog roast.

FUNdraisingWith a bigger and better Bourne Free, Bournemouth's Pride Festival, planned for 2009 the organisers have put together the largest ever programme of fundraising events.

Bournemouth's Got The Bourne Free Pride Factor... And Possibly A New Drag Idol Strictly In The Xchange took place in February, with a host of local talent live on stage and representing the town's biggest gay bars and clubs.

All the performers faced a tough panel of local celebrity judges, with the best Drag King and Queen winning a cash prize and prime position in the Bourne Free Pride Parade.

Bourne Free Karaoke Idol, hosted by Lucinda Lashes at The Branksome, includes three heats on Monday 30th March, 27th April and 25th May each from 9pm, with the grand final during The Branksome Garden Party on Saturday 27th June.
